Few places on the globe experience a more varied landscape and changing nature as in Sri Lanka. Here you find paradise beaches, high mountains with fog banks and rain, lush rainforest and national parks with amazing biodiversity. Jetwing Vil Uyana is located among areas of reeds and rice fields close to the historic fort Sigiriya. Lifestyle magazine Harpers Bazaar has called this “The Best Eco Luxury Hotel in Sri Lanka” and we agree.

Sample Itinerary
Jetwing Vil Uyana is a unique and ambitious project 5 kilometers from Fort Sigiriya – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The resort is located as an integral part of the landscape, where herons, kingfishers, storks and from time to time also crocodiles stock up.
A trip in a hot air balloon is a great way to experience this exciting landscape. You depart from Sigiriya, soar over the culturally important places of Anuradhapura, Dambulla and Polonnaruwa, see Lion Rock, the tropical rainforest and much more.
The national park, which is close to the resort, has both forest and large wetlands. More than 80 different bird species, 17 different species of mammals, 40 butterfly species, 30 reptile species and of course lots of insects, beetles and frogs live. The area is exciting during the day, but an even greater experience at night. This is where animals wake up that otherwise stay hidden during the day – such as the little lori monkey (or lazy monkey) Gray Slender Lori. This is a small primate that is only active at night. A charming little animal, with big eyes and slow, carefully considered movements.
The story of Sigiriya – an ancient rock fortress located in the northern Matale district near the town of Dambulla – is part of your trip to Sri Lanka. 2,500 years ago, Datusena was king of the area. He ruled from the capital Anuradhapura, but his son Kasyapa wanted power, had his father imprisoned and his father eventually died. Kaspaya’s half-brother Mogallana was the real heir to the throne, but in the ensuing conflict he had to flee to Sigiriya, where he had a palace built on the cliff, a fortress complete with walls and a moat. Worth a visit!
Adventurous views of the rice fields.
Eat in the most beautiful surroundings.
This is true eco-luxury.
