Chongwe Camp is a 30-minute flight from Lusaka, Zambia. In addition to wild safari experiences with great chances of seeing leopard and wild dogs, the area is also known for its impressive range of different kinds of safari activities. Enjoy classic jeep safaris and walking safaris on foot, take to the rivers on a boat cruise or canoe safari, or why not try tiger fishing. Sample Itinerary
Your large tent has a spacious outdoor bathroom, a veranda with comfortable sun loungers with beautiful and locally produced textiles and handmade furniture.
At Chongwe Camp you will be well pampered. Every afternoon you meet for afternoon tea ☺ before it’s time to set off for an afternoon safari. As the sun sets, we enjoy a drink in the bush. On the way home we do an evening safari in search of nocturnal wildlife. We gather for dinner under the stars and a nightcap by the campfire.
On a typical safari day, the alarm clock rings just before sunrise – you get tea or coffee for your tent and then head to the dining room for breakfast around the campfire. Go on a morning safari – return to camp for a delicious brunch overlooking the river. You can treat yourself to a well-deserved midday siesta in the middle of the day.
The activities in Chongwe are varied, choose between fishing, hiking tours, day and evening safari tours. And for the more adventurous, try a canoe trip along one of the many waterways off the Zambezi frequented by hippos and elephants. You can decide what you want to do each day in consultation with your expert guides and camp manager. Dinners are served and the days end with a nightcap served around the campfire.

Good to know about Zambia:
Travel Ethics: None in particular.
Visa: Your passport must be valid for 6 months after departure from Zambia and have two blank pages for entry and exit stamps. Most citizens need a visa. This can be arranged before departure or alternatively purchased on the spot for USD 50 in cash. Pay attention to the number of days you are allowed to stay that is stamped in the passport.
Time zone: GMT + 2
Pack: Sunglasses, sun hat, sunscreen, good walking shoes, thicker sweater/jacket to wear in the morning/evening depending on which part of Zambia you are visiting.
