Fundu Lagoon: Fundu Lagoon utsida

Fundu Lagoon is a “barefoot paradise” where you can easily feel like Robinson Crusoe – here you are far from the rest of the world. The perfect place to just let time go by, relax and enjoy life.

Dinner on the beach: Beach BBQ fundu lagoon

Fundu Lagoon’s main building is located under a large thatched roof. Here is a nice breeze in the evening and the view of the sea is beautifully mesmerising. All meals are served here – or out on the hotel’s pier. Some meals can be served down on the beach …

The kitchen at Fundu Lagoon: Pool Bar 1

It is indeed something truly unique about sitting here looking across the Indian Ocean enjoying fresh fruit, freshly harvested local vegetables or a cup of coffee. The cuisine is a mix of Swahili dishes and more international dishes.

How to live on undu Lagoon: fundu tented suite

Stay in a Tented Suite – either on the beach or on a small ridge a little further away from the beach. All suites are connected to the rest of the hotel via a small path system.

Activities Fundu Lagoon: dykning och snorkling fundu lagoon

The lodge has a fully equipped PADI 5 star diving center. For example, you can take over Misali Island, with the most beautiful beach and great opportunities for diving or snorkeling. Or go on a boat trip in a traditional Dhow boat, or on a coastal safari in a canoe through the mangrove forest.

Activities Fundu Lagoon: Spa Treatment Room

Fundu Lagoon has a fantastic infinity pool – with accompanying bar. There is also a spa at the hotel.

Fundu Lagoon: fiske Tanzania

Here at Fundu Lagoon there are also perfect conditions for sport fishing. You have a Cobra Cat who can take you out to sea for an unforgettable fishing trip. Please note that the International Game Fishing Association’s guidelines for ethical sport fishing are strictly followed.

Fundu Lagoon shares the island with the indigenous people of Pemba. The lodge feels like a part of the island and the local nature and culture. For example, you buy all your (organic) vegetables, fruit and fish from the local area.

Fundu has helped build a school, as well as helped dig a well – which was largely paid for by donations from guests at the hotel. Materials for the local school have been helped, such as books and bicycles for the teachers. Currently, the school is being expanded with more classrooms. The school performs annual health checks, and some children have received help with operations at a nearby hospital – partly sponsored by guests at the hotel but also by staff at the hotel.

Kids here will love equipment for sports, games, school supplies or toys. Please bring if you wish to donate.

By traveling to Fundu Lagoon, you are supporting the local community.
