We love travelling. Our passion is to influence travellers to make better choices. These travel choices support local communities and conservation initiatives globally. Done right, we know tourism makes an important difference. Done right, it deepens the travellers’ awareness on the importance of sustainability. Done right, the market demand for ecoluxury travel will expand.

Ecolyx is part of Ecospheres AB, a Swedish travel agency founded in 2009. The two entrepreneurs Tina Frisk and Ulrika Löfdahl met in Kenya in 2008, where both of them worked with the development of eco-destinations. From their common experiences of the travel industry, the idea of starting a travel agency was born. The philosophy was that all destinations would be hand-picked and visited, places where one would feel at home rather than like a tourist. Another important idea was that everyone who traveled with them, would leave a positive footprint on humans, nature and culture. Ecolyx is offering eco-luxury trips to small-scale eco destinations worldwide. Increasingly travellers start seeing the value of greater responsibility regarding development of local communities, protection of nature, including culture in connection with their journey.

Ecolyx has been working on the development and certification of sustainable tourism at destination level for 15 years and is a certified sustainable tourism expert with the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC). The Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) establishes and manages global and sustainable tourism standards, so-called GSTC criteria. These strongly correlate to the UN’s goals for sustainable development.

Today, Ecolyx is experiencing a growing demand and it seems that more and more travellers can see the positive impacts by traveling in a more conscious way.
